Poverty can exacerbate malnutrition by lowering the nutritional content of food consumed and fostering hidden hunger, which is a lack of vital vitamins and minerals (Siddiqui et al., 2020). Obesity has spread beyond wealthy, industrialized countries and is now a hallmark of the poor world as well. Poverty causes financial restrictions, which lead to the intake of low-cost, high-energy staple foods, principally carbs, and fats, rather than nutritionally rich meals. Energy levels rise when carbs and lipids are consumed, but nutritional quality suffers. In some of the scenarios, it forces the poor children and families to incline towards fast or processed foods; this pattern tends to lower the possibility of children under poverty getting adequate nutritional values.
